High School Scholarships
In order to help ensure that each of our students continue their Catholic education, many Holy Innocents’ eight graders who are accepted into a Catholic high school receive a partial scholarship from the Catholic Education Foundation.
Curriculum
Students at Holy Innocents receive a solid, sequential, traditional, integrated elementary school education with an emphasis on religion, language arts, science, social studies, fine arts, and mathematics. Teachers are encouraged to engage children through creative teaching styles, sparking their curiosity and imaginations. The curriculum meets the guidelines and requirements set by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Department of Catholic Schools.
We offer extra services for students with special learning needs. Along with our Title 1 program which helps students with reading difficulties.
Curriculum, in its deepest sense, is beyond paper, textbooks, and tests. It is a total experience of interactions with God, peers, adults, nature – all those things, which when added up, teach and shape us.
Spiritual Formation
Holy Innocents School places a priority on religious instruction and formation. Throughout the day, students are provided with many opportunities to learn about their faith and ways to live it out in practical circumstances. Holy Innocents students learn about the Catholic faith and what it means to live Christian values in the modern world. Through daily classroom instruction, they come to know and understand the Gospel message which they then put into to practice in their school, homes and community. Families are welcome to attend all student Masses and events.
Sacraments
The Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion are celebrated in 2nd grade, following a preparation program involving both the student and the parents.
Each month Mass is celebrated for the student body in the school hall. Students participate as lectors, ushers, and choir.

Leadership in Action – Holy Innocents Student Council
We are proud of our boys and girls who have chosen to take the responsibility to lead our students. Their care and concern for fellow students is a model of responsibility to their classmates and an example of the life of Christ.
Student Council is a faculty-supervised after school program that teaches children how to be leaders, how to solve problems, how to plan activities and make them happen, and how to inspire other students to reach for their goals. Student Council is a year-long commitment, and offers the opportunity for these students to add extra community service hours throughout the year.

Our Mission
Holy Innocents Parish School, as part of the Catholic Educational System of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, is dedicated to the growth and development of its students. Under the patronage of the Holy Innocents, the first witnesses to Christ, we seek to instill a reverence for all human life by helping our students become responsible and participating members of the Catholic Church and of society.
Our Philosophy
Holy Innocents Parish School, as a learning community, seeks to teach with the Mind and Heart of Christ in an atmosphere infused with profound respect for the gift of life and wonders of creation. We are fully aware of our role in assisting parents as the primary educators in the holistic formation of their children in view of their ultimate goal, the good of that society to which they belong, and in the duties of which they will, as adults, have a share. Our curriculum is based upon a commitment to the development of the whole child regardless of race, color, class, or creed. In light of our parish patrons, the Holy Innocents, we seek to provide an atmosphere in the school that facilitates the growth of a faith that is a simple, true, and unwavering witness to Christ. Intimate friendship with God is deepened through the habit of prayer, sacramental living, Eucharistic Adoration, and service to others. The program of religious studies, academic curriculum, and system of discipline is designed to facilitate this formation of the whole child. It is the shared responsibility of the teachers and families at Holy Innocents Parish School to believe and practice this same philosophy and to cooperate to achieve development in Faith, Academics, Integrity, The Arts, and Health.
